About us

The King's Lynn Support Group of the Motor Neurone Disease Association aims to raise funds for, and support, people in the area affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This includes people with MND, their carers, family and friends, in fact anyone who has been touched in some way by the disease.

Three MND Association Visitors in the Kings Lynn and West Norfolk area offer confidential, emotional support and accurate information to people with MND, their families and carers, helping them to access the right services and equipment. These trained volunteers act as a point of contact for people living with MND, staying in touch by phone, email or face to face visits.

Support meetings for people with MND, their families and carers are held every three months at the Tapping House Hospice in Hillington. Former carers and family members are also very welcome to attend. Meetings normally start at 11.00 with coffee and a relevant speaker, followed by a light lunch.

An informal Carers’ Friendship Group meets monthly for coffee, every third Wednesday, at 11.00 am in the Café at Tapping House, for carers and former carers to chat and exchange information and ideas.

The Support Group also provides small ‘Care Grants’ to local people with MND, following requests to the Association from health care professionals or ‘Quality of Life Grants’ requested by Association Visitors, health care professionals or people with MND.
